The beginning

Welcome! Thank you for visiting the Buff Bros. Breakfast Blog!

Who am I?

First, I'd like to introduce myself, I am Ryan Weishaar and I am 27 years old with a pretty diverse background. I grew up with both an agricultural and military lifestyle. I have lived in several different locations throughout the years, including: Oklahoma, Manhattan, Georgia, and several other states as I was a field mechanic for a few years after I graduated with my associates in diesel technology from NCK College. I attended K-State and lived in Manhattan for roughly six years until I got a job as a design engineer. My goal of Buff Bros. Breakfast is to provide the best mobile breakfast experience you can have while in the Little Apple and I will try to post here every week to keep you up-to-date on the journey of what started as an idea and is transforming into so much more.

When & Where?

To answer that question, we must go back about a month and a half ago to when I went out on the weekend, as I typically used to do. I had went to my normal bar, Dirty Dawgs Saloon, since I enjoy country two-step and line dancing. After getting a good amount of dancing in, I decided it was time to head home, but I wanted to grab some food, as most everyone does after spending their nights out dancing, bar hopping, partying, etc. However, I was facing a problem and it was, I wasn't feeling any of the options that are in Aggieville, so I began to drive around town. After zig zagging all around town, I realized there was nothing left open that I was craving. Feeling somewhat defeated and drowsy, I decided to just go home and go to bed; whilst driving home, an idea popped into my head; to open a food truck that serves breakfast food and caters to the late-night bar goers, party all-nighters, the night owls, but that has a twist... I wanted the truck to still have the greasy and salty or decadently sweet options, that we all want when those light night cravings hit or when we have had a few too many, but, the twist, I also wanted to offer healthy options for those people that may want or need them.

The Foundation

To begin building the foundation for the business, I had several tasks that would become the stepping stones to start the journey of building and establishing a food truck business. I took immediate action after having the idea by heading to Marketplace and looking for enclosed trailers or trailers, in general. After finding multiple that I had thought about inquiring about two final contenders emerged; the one that won me over was an older 2 horse trailer that had multiple benefits to it, but would still require a decent amount of work to make it into the vision that I saw when I had the idea for starting the truck. After acquiring the trailer became the more tedious work of all the paperwork that is associated with starting a business. Seeing as this is my first time starting and running a business it has been very much a learning curve in itself. I could have went about filing the paperwork in a more efficient way that would have streamlined the process of getting things going. However, most of it only took me an afternoon to get everything filed. With all that started I focused on designing and launching the website, getting stickers or other forms of merchandise and business cards.
